Bi-Weekly Project Post

So I decided the weekly project posts should probably be a bi-weekly thing, seeing as some people don't really work fast enough to have new material to contribute every week (ME). I set an alarm and put up a post-it and was all revved up to post Saturday night announcing it in the new post. AND THEN THERE WAS A TORNADO, LOL. And the power is out in damn near the whole fucking city. Good times. So here is your project post on Monday. MAKE IT A GOOD ONE IN MY ABSENCE BECAUSE THE LIBRARY CLOSES IN A COUPLE HOURS AND THEN I WILL BE AT HOME. IN THE DARK. GOING STEADILY MAD.

How can they not get power up faster? The temperature hit 100 Fahrenheit for several days in a row this past week, at least where I live. I wonder how many news stories will be about little old ladies dying because holy fuck is it hot.

I wish there were more elder clothes, especially EM! Healthy, happy sims spend about as much time as elders as they do as adults (okay, only if you don't count uni as adulthood, but still). Why is there so little content for elder men? :(

I also wish there were more male hairstyles that reflected what I see men wearing. The men I see regularly--my dad, boyfriend, brother, friends, professors--would never wear hairstyles like what I have in my CC male hair folder! And I usually download hairstyles meant for men, not M2F conversions. It's not just length, either; it's texture. Men mostly have kind of thick hair, but most hair textures tend to make hair look really fine.

Once again I have ~started a neighborhood~ and still don't know what the hell to do with it, because I CANNOT BUILD. Even house plans don't help. I really wish I didn't suck so much, because I like this 'hood, yo. Here's a picture, yo.

Ummmm... yeah. It's supposed to be pirate-y/nautical but I do not have much of either type of content. 8\

I just made all of my adult clothing elder available and don't have any custom elder-specific clothing anymore. They all have gray hair, wrinkly skin, horrible posture and they're more likely to get pudgy because they've already maxed their body points, anyway.

I don't know how helpful this is, but it is an idea. They'll have tons more outfits if they wear the adult clothes, after all. :)

As I often say, if someone will make me some tattoo textures, I'd be a hell of a lot more inclined to make a new tattoo box than I am when I have to start from scratch and do it all myself.

Especially since my next theme has been chosen since I did the last one, simply waiting for the next time I feel like making tattoo textures, if there's something you especially want, you're only likely to get it if you make me textures first~~~~

That is a pretty good idea! (My skills-maxed sims get pudgy too! It's mostly because they all have gardens and stock their fridges with fresh food. AND they make gigantic plates of lobster thermidor at the drop of a hat, damn them)

I'm working on object recolors for a Secret Santa gift. There are quite a few things that could go in my SS gift or in GoS's monthly theme; I haven't decided which way I'll go with them yet. Right now, I just hope I can get them all to work!

I fed one of my teenage spares to the cowplant, with plans to make him a zombie later. Another teenage spare is being a gigantic slut; I think he's gone on dates with 17 people since he became a teen. Somehow, none of them have found out about each other yet! And both of his parents are pregnant, which means YET ANOTHER ALIEN BABY YAY. Even though I can have alien babies easily now, they're kind of special to me.

AAAAAAANNNND my laptop just bit the dust. The hard drive is not working. I've dropped it off with some university IT people in the hopes that they can recover some data. Luckily it isn't my main Simming computer, or I'd be fucked for the Secret Santa thing. But I did have some Secret Santa stuff on that computer, and I really hope the IT people can recover it. I don't want to do it over again!

Also I really love Aelia's new colors, but with three sets of Aelia colors and one set of Pooklet colors, I don't know which colors to use for my projects! INDECISION, I HAS IT

Theoretically, if I were to make a set of body-freckle overlays, would you be interested in making a box for me? Or, say, seperating Fantasyrouge's green alien spots and making a box for them?

(Cant think of any tats I want off the top of my head, but damn, there are many overlay box things I would love)

HAIR DUMP. That was my week in Simming. Ohgod I LOVE your new actions and there are SO MANY HAIRS that need them and ... Damn, I need to go update my list...

(Forty-one hairs. I posted forty-one hairs. This is why I haven't bothered with pretty in-game preview pics for GoS yet.)

I had probably the most frustrating week in the history of Sims, evah (OK, from my point of view anyway): it took me all week to finally discover that apparently I suck at retexturing/recolouring clothing. I really don't understand why Bodyshop stuff is considered easier to create than objects, as I've always found it much more painful - give me object creation/recolouring/retexturing any day! :D

As long as you don't need a really narrow timeframe for them, because it can be kinda tedious and I occasionally do it, mess something up, and then get frustrated. XD

At some point over the week I wanted to check out the Any Game Starter. Apparently it doesn't like the 'Best of Business' collection and I was dumb enough not to realize it before I installed. The whole thing ended up with a two day attempt at uninstalling everything, trying to delete all the registries associated with the installs, reinstalling everything but 'Best of Business' because it still thought it was installed, and finally trying CCleaner instead of jv16 PowerTools 2010 to find the one file that kept 'Best of Business' from installing. >_

I know how much it sucks to be without power. I was in the path of that awful winter storm at the beginning of last year. It was nearly three weeks before we finally got power back.

Maybe it's just me, but I find problems with BS content (e.g. mapping) much harder to correct than object recolours. NECKLINES. Urgh, they are a PITA.

Oh, don't mention necklines to me! *Shudders*

I also find the whole rigmarole of making Bodyshop content so much more tedious for some reason; I usually get bored and fed-up with it not working halfway through, and just give it up as a bad job and go back to making objects!
